Mary
McCarthy
Ms. McCarthy is the Manager of Technical
Services for HealthSystems Redesign, Inc.(HSR) Her technical expertise
spans 16 years in the field of information system development,
data requirement design, and analysis. Ms. McCarthy's
ability to manage large and diverse technical teams is a major
asset to HSR and it's clients.
Ms. McCarthy's background includes
technical as well as management support of a varied array of Navy,
Department of Defense, and commercial programs involving the
automation of technical information. As a civilian employee
of the U.S. Navy, her technical support included extensive
requirement analysis, technical specification development, and
information system design and development.
One of Ms. McCarthy's greatest assets
surrounds her expertise in SGML (Standard Generalized Markup
Language: ISO 8879) and it's subset XML (Extensible Markup
Language) which is a newly adopted Internet Protocol for data
interchange designed to bring extensibility, interchange of
complex structures, and data validation to the World Wide
Web. Throughout Ms. McCarthy's career while at the U.S. Navy, then
as an independent Technical Consultant she has defined and helped
develop management information systems that have benefited from
the application of SGML and XML in terms of data modeling, data
interchange, and validation.
In addition to her extensive defense
background, Mary was the Independent Senior Technical Consultant
for SoftQuad, Inc. While at SoftQuad, Ms. McCarthy consulted to
F.A.Davis Publishers where she defined and developed an
information management model to support the development and
distribution of Medical Encyclopedia Information. She was
instrumental in establishing the necessary business improvement
practices and corporate standards to maintain and distribute
medical information.
Ms. McCarthy is a graduate of the
University of New Hampshire with a BS in Mathematics.
